The dream

Another four months has passed. Hero said that I became extra-workaholic since then. He was talking to my E-i-C, asking permission for a week leave.

An abrupt week leave! I don’t need it, but they were convincing my E-i-C that I need a break from all the breakthroughs that occurred to me for the past few months. THEY were asking for it, telling everybody that they got a big surprise for me.

The only thing is that, they know all about it and I don’t even care whatever the plan is. Even if it’s for me. Even if it includes Timmy. But it’s not.

Afternoon came and the surprise was not a surprise anymore. It’s like déjà-vu, only it’s a different person.

As soon as I walked out of my office building, the huge radio that was supposed to play songs for the daily countdown was halted. A familiar voice was singing at the background along with the chords that I’m sure no one ever heard of before.

The only person who knows this song is Hero. He knows where my compositions are hidden and I also gave him access to my tabs. I knew it, but I didn’t pay attention to it. I still don’t care.

The song was written when I was in high school… sooooo long ago.

They sure had this as a surprise. That’s what I thought. Until somebody suddenly appeared when the chorus played.

The cherub was carrying my Chrysanthemums, Tulips and Roses in one bouquet.

When I saw him, I expected myself to get mad but I wasn’t.

I was all the while, smiling. Thankful that it was him. Surprised to feel this way. Shocked that time healed all wounds.

Yes, it was Bryyan. The stalker. The guy who bought the Banana Yoshimoto book before me. The guy I had my first crush on.

But that’s it. My alarm clock suddenly buzzed. And it was just a dream. Har! Har!
